Triad Pairs and Spreads
“Your teaching is encouraging, fun, and I really feel like it's getting me to where I want to be. I especially love the Mapping 21 Triads video [in this course] - genius.” -David P.
A triad on its own is... nice. A triad pair on the other hand is... SPICE! In this hands-on course we'll look at all of the spicy, beautiful sounds that can be made with triad pairs (playing neighboring triads in quick succession to create soulful/gospel harmonizations) and triad spreads (a way of spreading out and thickening up basic triad shapes) via custom musical examples and practice tracks that will keep you glued to the piano.
Not only will you learn the secret to gospel style chord melodies and luscious accompaniment, but you'll also deepen your understanding of the keyboard map as we take each exercise through numerous keys and challenges that tie these sounds into popular and practical examples.
This course is appropriate for intermediate pianists or ambitious beginners. The facility required is actually pretty simple, but it's more about stretching the mental muscles for quickly recognizing and moving through diatonic shapes. It's taught in 45 bite size videos spanning over two hours that include live practice tracks, plus a handful of supplementary PDFs.
The videos in this course are entirely visual (no sheet music) and feature falling blocks that guide you to the right notes. The videos in this course were originally created for HDpiano using their tools and software.
